Groundwater Tracer test

Tracer test is a method for estimating the flow rate and direction of groundwater and to evaluate the hydrogeology. In practice, it is difficult to get a precise result due to limited monitoring wells.

NGST technology can perform a high-density on-site survey, therefore NGST can be conducted before and during the tracer test, and then the groundwater flow rate and direction can be estimated by the tracer images obtained from the NGST survey method.

As of 2020, Elisha Co. has completed 3 cases about the groundwater tracer test.

NGST technology shows that the flow rate and direction are not stable according to the tracer test with 121 NGST survey points.
NGST technology shows that the tracer flow and distribution are not radial flow according to 121 NGST survey points. Even though the tracer is injected by gravity, the flow type is a preferential flow.
