Storage tank leakage
NGST can be used to detect the leaking point of storage tanks. Both electrodes are installed in the monitoring well and tank respectively. By way of estimating its electrical circuit condition and NGST survey above the tank, and the leaking point should be the location of the abnormal magnetic field.
As of 2020, Elisha Co. has completed one case about the evaluation of leakage of the storage tank.
The upper picture shows the abnormal magnetic field of the electroplating solution tank obtained from the 46 NGST survey points, and the abnormal location is the leaking point. The following figure shows the NGST survey result of the groundwater which was contaminated by leaking electroplating solution. Base on the results of NGST, the electroplating solution leak downward to the groundwater then disperse with groundwater flow to the righthand side of this figure.
